The following is the full text of the Amicu Brief of the California Attorney General in support of the plaintiffs in Bring Back the Kern, et al v. City of Bakersfield.
BBTK-v-City-of-Bakersfield-_-State-Amicus-Brief-20241014Amici curiae respectfully submit this brief in support of the environmental organization respondents (Environmental Respondents).1 This Court should uphold the trial court’s issuance of the preliminary injunction against Respondent City of Bakersfield (City) for its ongoing violations of Section 5937 by routinely dewatering an approximately twenty-mile stretch of the Kern River downstream of the City’s six weirs.2
